- SEAT S.A. sponsors Pride BCN for second consecutive year
- Employees will join the LGBTI+ Pride march in a bus decorated by CUPRA ambassador TvBoy
- CUPRA has designed two T-shirt models inspired by the LGBTI+ community, the proceeds of which will go to ACATHI, an NGO supporting LGBTI+ refugees and migrants
- Full inclusion of LGBTI+ people is integral to the company’s strategy
As part of its commitment to celebrate diversity and support the LGBTI+ community, SEAT S.A. is returning to Pride BCN for the second consecutive year. As a main sponsor, the company once again reaffirms its position as an inclusive organisation that embraces all gender identities and sexual orientations, where everyone can be and express themselves as they truly are.
Taking place on July 15, Pride BCN’s march is expected to attract 250,000 people and will see SEAT S.A. employees take to the streets in a specially designed bus. Featuring artwork by CUPRA ambassador TvBoy, the open-top bus will feature the kiss as an expression of love between people irrespective of their gender identity and/or sexual orientation. In addition, a specially designed CUPRA Born in the colours of the LGBTI+ flags, called Born Proud, which is currently on tour around the SEAT S.A. facilities, will be on display at CASA SEAT in the heart of Barcelona during Pride weekend, from July 14 to July 16.
SEAT S.A. will also be present in the Pride Village in Plaça Universitat where members of Pride Moves Us, the company’s employee resource group (ERG), will host a stand to share their experiences with visitors about SEAT S.A.’s LGBTI+ inclusion policies. Furthermore, special Pride Editions of CUPRA’s ‘One of Us’ and ‘Born Proud’ T-shirts will be on sale at the stand, with all proceeds going to ACATHI, an NGO dedicated to supporting LGBTI+ migrants and refugees.
According to Benjamin Ramírez Heller, Head of Culture, Change, Diversity & People Growth at SEAT S.A., “We believe in embracing diversity, because the things that make us different, make us stronger. Our commitment to LGBTI+ people is a key part of our Diversity and Inclusion strategy. Sponsoring Pride BCN is just one way we demonstrate this, but our support for the LGBTI+ community extends all year round.”
SEAT S.A.: An inclusive workplace
In the past year alone, SEAT S.A. has taken several important steps in this regard. The company approved a new collective agreement that includes measures such as extending the protocol to combat sexual and gender-based harassment to other groups including the LGBTI+ community, as well as developing a Diversity Plan for LGBTI+ people that promotes actions to prevent any kind of labour discrimination and ensure Zero tolerance of LGBTI+phobia.
Furthermore, at the end of 2022, SEAT S.A. held its first company-wide Inclusion Survey to find out how employees feel and take steps to improve the inclusion of those individuals and groups, such as LGBTI+ people, who may feel marginalised. This was followed in 2023 by the launch of an Inclusive Communication guide, which encourages respect and consideration for LGBTI+ people to be taken into account in the language used in all communications.
These actions are complimented by those of the Culture, Change, Diversity & People Growth department and the ERG Pride Moves Us, as well as other departments, who promote, organise and participate in events, talks and conferences throughout the year to make LGBTI+ people visible, promote their full inclusion in the company and in society and ensure their well-being.
