CASA SEAT is kicking off its November calendar full of activities celebrating music, literature, photography and contemporary culture. This month’s programme aims to appeal to a wide range of audiences, with unique events ranging from recitals to exhibitions.
Barcelona, Literary Capital
The Moments Estel·lars cycle returns On 4 November, this time focusing on the vitality of the publishing sector in Barcelona. Patrici Tixis, president of the Publishers’ Guild of Catalonia, and Aniol Rafel, publisher of Periscopio, will be sharing their insights into how the pandemic revitalised the habit of reading and the role of publishers, both large and small, in the promotion of local culture.
Furthermore, CASA SEAT will be the venue on 12 November for the first presentation in Spain of The Blue Hour, the new mystery novel by Paula Hawkins. Known for her skill in writing psychological thrillers and with more than 29 million copies sold, the author’s captivating novel explores themes of creative freedom and social pressures.
Unique Musical Experiences
On 7 November and as a part of Music Week, CASA SEAT is hosting a Secret Show featuring the outstanding artist Ruslana, which will culminate with the LOS40 Music Awards on 8 November. Similarly, pop singer IZARO is giving a concert on 20 November, presenting her unique style that combines pop and electronic music.
For a more flexible audience, on 15 November the talented guitarist Gonzalo Peñalosa is offering a recital that explores the connection between different musical traditions through representative works from the 20th and 21st centuries. His performance aims to reflect on how music can unite cultures over time.
Audiovisual Culture and Entertainment
CASA SEAT is hosting two very powerful audiovisual projects during the week starting on 10 November, opening with photographer Jaime Rojo, winner of a World Press Photo 2024 award, who will present his project in collaboration with the Photographic Social Vision Foundation.
The second video exhibition takes place on 16 November, when the space joins Loop Festival 2024 with a screening of the latest works by moving image artist John Menick, followed by a discussion on contemporary art and technology. Menick, known for his innovative approach, will discuss his vision for the future of film and art.
And on the sports entertainment scene, on 11 November The Kings League seven-a-side football tournament will present its official guide to the competition revealing insights and anecdotes behind one of the most exciting projects in today’s football competition.
