Matching powertrain performance with dynamism is a core element of the CUPRA Terramar’s character. Based on the MQB Evo architecture, the CUPRA Terramar offers a unique driving experience.

The front MacPherson struts and rear multilink suspension setup together with the sport suspension (10mm lower than the platform) – standard for all versions - allowed the engineering team to precisely tune the spring and damper rates, perfecting weight distribution.

Standard progressive steering controls the feedback and assistance depending on speed to maximise agility and give the driver feedback and control.

The CUPRA Terramar uses an electrical brake booster to provide a faster response and the ability to recover braking energy through the blending function (specific for the plug-in hybrid versions of the CUPRA Terramar) bolstering efficiency even further while also delivering better active security. The electrical Brake Booster has been specifically adapted for the CUPRA models.

The CUPRA Terramar takes confidence inspiring handling to another level with vehicles fitted with the 4Drive all-wheel drive system. The system constantly monitors a multitude of data including steering angle, wheel speed and yaw of the vehicle to deliver power to the correct wheel exactly when it is needed.

Chassis tunability is the backbone of CUPRA’s chassis capabilities. The CUPRA Terramar comes with a new generation of the Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC), with two-valve shock absorbers, improving significantly driving dynamics.

The CUPRA Terramar introduces front uprights with higher camber providing more lateral grip and speed while cornering. The car also integrates a new control arm at the front axle with optimized elastokinematics for a more direct steering response and greater turnability.

The CUPRA Terramar’s character can be tuned with different driving modes: Comfort, Performance, CUPRA (for VZ versions), Offroad (for all-wheel drive versions), and Individual profiles, giving the CUPRA Terramar a huge breadth of abilities and character specific to the driver. ESC can be tuned to Sport for all powertrains, and in the case of the VZ versions (2.0 TSI 265PS & eHybrid 272PS), the ESC can even be disconnected (ESC Off).

The CUPRA Terramar comes as standard with either 18’’ wheels with 235mm tires (1.5 eTSI 150PS, 2.0 TSI 204PS & eHybrid 204PS) or 19’’ wheels with 255mm wider tires (VZ 2.0 TSI 265PS & VZ eHybrid 272PS). And as an option, the CUPRA Terramar can be equipped with 20’’ wheels with 255mm wider tires to enhance the experience at the wheel.

Finally, the CUPRA Terramar VZ (2.0 TSI 265PS & eHybrid 272PS) can be equipped with Akebono performance brakes. The six piston calipers combine with bigger perforated disc brakes (375x36mm) compared to standard options (340x36mm), to improve braking performance, giving even greater confidence in the SUV’s dynamics.
